Summary

As an Assistant Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the kitchen. You will work under the guidance of the head chef and other kitchen staff to ensure that all ingredients are properly prepared, the kitchen remains clean, and cooking processes run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare basic ingredients such as chopping vegetables, weighing ingredients, and ensuring all items are ready for use according to the recipes provided.

  • Cooking Assistance: Assist the chef in cooking dishes, including tasks like grilling, frying, steaming, and other cooking processes as instructed.

  • Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring that workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment are sanitized and in good condition.

  • Inventory Management: Help in managing kitchen inventory, including stocking ingredients and ensuring that all supplies are fresh and available when needed.

  • Learning and Development: Continuously learn and develop culinary skills by observing and assisting senior chefs, gaining knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.

  • Waste Management: Assist in minimizing food waste by properly storing ingredients and using them efficiently.

    Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus, but not required.

  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings and weekends.
