Working Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM (Full WFO)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Engineer who will act as the PIC for ingestion and extraction modules within a document-based data pipeline. This role focuses on extracting structured data from semi-structured documents (PDF) to support analytics and AI use cases, with strong emphasis on data quality and traceability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build document ingestion pipelines (batch/stream) with idempotent processing.

• Extract text, tables, and key information from text-based PDFs and OCR outputs.

• Transform semi-structured and narrative data into structured formats (JSON → PostgreSQL).

• Implement data validation, logging, and pipeline quality metrics.

• Design PostgreSQL schemas (relational & JSONB) with upsert and versioning mechanisms.

• Collaborate closely with R&D/AI teams to align data contracts and priorities.

Technical Requirements

Must-have:

• Strong Python skills for data processing and pipelines.

• Solid SQL and experience with PostgreSQL.

• Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.

• Hands-on experience extracting data from PDFs and using OCR when needed.

• Familiar with Git-based collaboration workflows.

Nice-to-have:

• OCR tools (e.g., Tesseract/EasyOCR), table extraction, Airflow/Docker.

• Experience handling semi-structured data (JSONB).

• Understanding of data lineage and auditability.

• Preferred industry background: System Integrator, R&D
