Network Engineer

Qualifications:

1. Adequate command of the English language to read and write materials written in English

2. A troubleshooter with an analytical mindset and willingness to learn new things

3. Solid knowledge of network switching and routing

4. Solid knowledge of network routing protocols (BGP, RIP, etc.)

5. Knowledge of services running on network (DNS, DHCP, LLDP, etc.)

6. Knowledge of network encapsulation protocols

7. Working experience configuring and managing Mikrotik network equipment

8. Good communication skills to work both in a team and independently

9. Able to work with Mikrotik network equipment

10. Willing to travel to datacenter sites, with the possibility of office or on-site (datacenter) placement

11. Available for after-office-hours work schedule, especially during upgrades or incident resolution

12. Willing to learn to use network equipment from other brands

*Preferred Qualifications (Optional but Nice to Have):

1. Working experience as a network technician

2. Experience maintaining Mikrotik network equipment

3. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux-based firewalls

4. MTCRE or higher certifications

5. CCNP or better certifications

6. Familiarity with Ansible network automation

7. Experience or knowledge of structured cabling installation

Job Description:

1. Install, configure and maintain network equipment

2. Monitor and log network performance and related issues

3. Plan, strategize, develop, and manage the network with the goal of maintaining internet accessibility (uptime)

4. Escalate issues related to internet connectivity to IX and/or related peers

5. Maintain a log of network configuration changes

6. Plan and execute software updates when needed

7. Keep up-to-date on Mikrotik product line and software releases

8. Plan and execute office network development
