Head Barista

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the Barista Team: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of baristas, providing guidance on techniques, customer service, and product knowledge.

2. Quality Control: Ensure the preparation and presentation of coffee and other beverages consistently meet the café’s high standards.

3. Customer Experience: Provide exceptional customer service, interact with customers to create a welcoming atmosphere, and address customer inquiries or concerns.

4. Inventory Management: Oversee the stock and inventory of coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other supplies; ensure timely ordering and restocking to prevent shortages.

5. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all food safety and health regulations; maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and equipment.

6. Training & Development: Conduct ongoing training and development for baristas to improve their skills and knowledge, including new product offerings and seasonal menu changes.

7. Menu Creation & Innovation: Collaborate with the management team to introduce new beverages or seasonal specials and assist with menu planning.

8. Shift Management: Handle daily opening and closing duties, manage the barista schedule, and ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

9. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all coffee equipment (espresso machines, grinders, etc.) is well-maintained, cleaned, and in good working order. Report any issues to management.

Requirements:

1. Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience as a barista, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.

2. Skills: Expert knowledge of coffee preparation, brewing methods, and espresso equipment.

3. Customer Service: Strong communication skills

4. Leadership: Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively,

5. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.

6. Flexibility: Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
